So, there's this boy.
He kinda stole my heart.
He calls me "Mom".

Sweetness

I had to snap a few pictures of my little guy before heading out for church because I thought he looked so handsome in his pink shirt.
This sweet boy is always silly...

As we were walking into church Landon said, "Mom, you're a girlfriend."
I said, "Whose girlfriend am I?"
"You're my girlfriend and I'm your boyfriend."
Ha!  This kid cracks me up!  :)
 I love him so much.
Landon wanted a turn taking pictures, too! ;)

Hiking

Saturday morning, Landon and I went on a little hike at Eagle Mountain Lake.  I'd never been before but a parent at school was telling me about it and how much her girls liked it there, so I thought Landon would enjoy it too.
There were several trails that you could choose to walk on and we chose the shortest one.  When we first started the weather was perfect, but by the time we finished it was pretty toasty out.

About the time this picture was taken is when Landon kept asking me to hold him.  Ha!  He kept telling me that he was so hot and tired.  I told him he had to be tough and keep on moving!  He did and didn't complain too much after that.

Landon came up with the idea of putting our camera in a tree and setting the self timer so that we could have a picture together.  Pretty smart little guy! :)

At the entrance of the park there were some old engines and trucks that Landon enjoyed looking at.
Landon brought an old box on our hike to put bugs and leaves in that he collected.  He likes looking for bugs but is deathly afraid of spiders.  When he was using the bathroom at the park there was a spider in there and he started screaming like I had never heard him scream before.  He kept screaming, "It's REAL!  It's REAL"!!  Poor little guy was worried about seeing spiders for the remainder of the hike.

We had a fun time out at Eagle Mountain Lake and we'll definitely go back!

Rise and Shine

I went to wake Landon up one morning and I quietly walked in and reached out to rub his back and he jumped up and growled at me!  Then he busted out in laughter--silly boy!
He is typically very hard to wake up and takes a few minutes to get moving, but not this particular morning!  He was full of energy and ready to start his day.
 He loves his little lamb.
I love this sweet boy so much--bedhead and all!  :)

Park

Our apartment is located next to a golf course and there is an amazing park nestled in the trees along the golf course.  It is amazing--there are so many large trees and peacefulness that surrounds you when you're there that you don't even feel like you're in the city.  You almost feel like you're on vacation!  Landon and I will be spending lots of time at this park for sure!
I took Landon the other day with my friend, Wendy, and her two boys.  The boys had the best time playing together!
 Happiness!
Landon and Cruz are close to the same age and they are both the most tender hearted little boys I've ever met.  They must get it from their mommas!  :)
Aren't they sweet?!  One more year and these two boys will be going to kindergarten together.  So hard to believe...where did my little baby go?
Wendy's husband, Rex, pulled up in the golf cart to bring the boys a popsicle and Eli wanted Landon to smell his!  Ha!  Silly boys.  Rex took the boys for a ride around the golf course on the golf cart.  I'm so thankful that we live close to such sweet friends.  I see many fun play dates in our future with this sweet family.

Aside from having an awesome park along the golf course, there is a wonderful running path along it too!  Absolutely perfect for Wendy and I since we are running buddies.  Life is great!

Sweet Surprises

The other day I received a card in the mail from Wichita Falls and it took me by surprise because very few people know my new address or even that I've moved.  So, I quickly opened the envelope to find this card!
This card is from my very best friend, Tandy.  About six years ago Tandy and I were shopping and found this card about friendship.  Tandy loved the song that it played when she opened it and said that it reminded her of our friendship so she bought it.  We decided that it would be 'our card' and we'd keep it forever sending it back and forth through the years when we most needed it.  There are so many sweet messages and memories written inside this card from failed relationships to the births of our sweet babies.  This card couldn't have arrived at a more perfect time!  Although the music in it no longer works, the card holds so much meaning to us.  It brought tears to my eyes when I opened it to know that Tandy was thinking of me during this time of transition in my life.

Tandy and I may not talk every week or even every month, but when we do we pick up right where we left off.  It's hard to come by friends like that.  I'm so thankful for her and her friendship.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with my sweet little guy.  I'm not sure how I got picked to be his mom, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.  Being his mom brings me so much happiness and joy and I just pray that I am doing everything that he needs to grow up to be a respectful and caring person.
My mom and sisters came into town for Mother's Day and I'm so glad they did.  We made a trip up to WF to see my Grandmother and Aunts, which was fun as always.  There is never a dull moment when we all get together.
There is something about the Grandparents and Aunts that makes Landon so silly!  It's hard to get a good picture of him when they're around.  Ha!
Isn't this the sweetest picture?!
Landon loves his Aunt Char.

On a side note:  I've got to get the internet in my apartment.  I love blogging about Landon's life and it's hard to do it without the internet.  Hopefully, I'll get it within the next few days and the blog with be more consistent. :)

Cricket

Landon found a cricket outside the other day--a dead cricket!  And he described it as 'so cute'.  I'm really not sure if his little heart can be any more tender. You have to have an extremely tender heart if you think a dead cricket is cute, right?!?  He brought it in the house and wanted me to take his picture with it.
After I took his picture with his 'new friend' I told him that the cricket couldn't stay in the house and that he needed to take him back outside where he belonged.  Landon did get a little upset but decided it would be okay to let cricket stay right outside of our door.  He was even so thoughtful to get a little leaf as a blanket for cricket.
Landon wanted me in on a picture with him and cricket, so I set up the self timer and here we are.
I'm not sure how I got so lucky to be this little guys mom!  He's the BEST!!

Little Man

My handsome little guy before heading out the door one morning.
 Silly
I told him to dance for the camera and these are a few moves I snapped! :)

Love him!
