So, there's this boy.
He kinda stole my heart.
He calls me "Mom".

Bug

My sweet little guy is a bit under the weather and it breaks my heart when he doesn't feel well.  I just wish I could take his pain away when he feels bad.
This picture was taken just a few hours before he started feeling bad.  We were at a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and he kept telling me that he was cold and tired, so I knew he wasn't feeling well.  When he wouldn't eat his pizza or birthday cake that's when I really knew that he wasn't feeling well.
This poor little guy has a headache and a tummy ache.  He's been running a fever off and on, too.  :(
I told him that he probably just has a little bug in his tummy and he said, "But mommy, I didn't eat a bug though".

Lots of snuggles and resting in store for us today.

New Orleans

My mom, dad, sister, and I took a train ride from San Antonio to New Orleans for a few days.  It was a nice trip filled with good times and tons of food!
While we were away in New Orleans, Landon was with his dad in Windthorst attending VBS.  They stayed with Landon's Great Grandma Wolf while they were there.  He had the best time and was so excited to go back each day!  We've been listening to the CD of the songs they learned throughout the week, and Landon has been teaching me all the motions that go along with the songs.  I'm so thankful that he had such a great time and got to make new friends and learn about Jesus.
Our train tickets are out and we're ready to board the train!
We are still smiling after a three hour train delay.  :)
The train ride was 15 hours long, but it was really relaxing.  We laughed a lot, took naps, read books and magazines, enjoyed the views from the observation car, and had dinner in the dining car.
Our first day in New Orleans we attended a cooking class and made gumbo, jumbalaya, pralines, and bread pudding.  All of it was AMAZING!!!!!!  They had the best gumbo hands down!
The lady leading the cooking class was such a character and kept us laughing the entire time!
After lunch we walked and did some site seeing.
We stopped in at the St. Louis Cathedral.
The inside of the church was beautiful!
That night we spent some time on Bourbon Street--WOW!!  Definitely saw some interesting things for sure!
The next day we took a carriage ride tour around the city and learned about some of the history of the town.
Charley and me on the carriage ride.
We enjoyed a nice dinner on the Cajun Queen paddle boat and took a ride down the Mississippi River.
 The dinner was amazing!
After dinner we sat out on the deck of the boat and enjoyed the views of the city as the sun set.

We ate so much yummy food on this trip and it was so worth it.  Our days consisted of eating and walking and eating some more!!

The train ride back to San Antonio was nice because it gave us time to relax after ALL the walking we did while in New Orleans.  Fortunately we didn't have any delays on the way home!  Thanks for a great trip, dad!  Lots of great memories!

Summer

I'm loving summer with my little man!  We have spent a little time at the pool almost everyday and Landon has loved every second.
I love that we don't have to set an alarm clock every morning, we can stay in our jammies until noon if we want to (yes we have--more than once!), we can go get snow cones whenever we want, and we can just hang out and enjoy each other!
We've gone to see a couple of movies and gone to the library a few times.
Landon has done some fun things with his dad, too!  They've watched airplanes take off at the airport, played at Lego Land, and dug up worms in the flower bed to go fishing with.
I love getting to feel like a stay at home mom for a few months of the year!  :)

Jump

Landon has the most awesome sitter during the school year while I'm at work!  Ms. LaShawn has been such a blessing to our family the past two years.  Landon has learned so many things from her from letters/sounds to continents.  Aside from academic learning he has grown so much socially.  Ms. LaShawn provides such a great example for the little ones that she in caring for--I love that!

To end the school year, Ms. LaShawn invited all the kids to Lets Jump and lunch at a local pizza place to enjoy each other one last time before being apart over the summer.  The kids loved seeing each other somewhere other than Ms. LaShawn's house!
 Happy boy!

 Weeeeeeeee!!
It is impossible to get 3 and 4 year olds to all look at the camera at the same time after an hour and a half of jumping!
Cruz is the only one looking in this picture.
Silly kids!

So grateful to have someone that loves and cares for our little loves while we are at work.
Very blessed.

Sleepy Head

The other day Landon was playing in his room and it was quiet for a while (if you know Landon this is definitely a cause for concern) so I went in to check on him and he had fallen asleep while playing with his cars.  He NEVER falls asleep anywhere but in his bed, so when I found him like this I had to snap a couple of pictures.
The best part of these pictures is that his shorts are on backwards!!  Ha!  I love it!  :)
I love looking at him while he's sleeping.  So precious.
My sweet boy.
