So, there's this boy.
He kinda stole my heart.
He calls me "Mom".

New Orleans

My mom, dad, sister, and I took a train ride from San Antonio to New Orleans for a few days.  It was a nice trip filled with good times and tons of food!
While we were away in New Orleans, Landon was with his dad in Windthorst attending VBS.  They stayed with Landon's Great Grandma Wolf while they were there.  He had the best time and was so excited to go back each day!  We've been listening to the CD of the songs they learned throughout the week, and Landon has been teaching me all the motions that go along with the songs.  I'm so thankful that he had such a great time and got to make new friends and learn about Jesus.
Our train tickets are out and we're ready to board the train!
We are still smiling after a three hour train delay.  :)
The train ride was 15 hours long, but it was really relaxing.  We laughed a lot, took naps, read books and magazines, enjoyed the views from the observation car, and had dinner in the dining car.
Our first day in New Orleans we attended a cooking class and made gumbo, jumbalaya, pralines, and bread pudding.  All of it was AMAZING!!!!!!  They had the best gumbo hands down!
The lady leading the cooking class was such a character and kept us laughing the entire time!
After lunch we walked and did some site seeing.
We stopped in at the St. Louis Cathedral.
The inside of the church was beautiful!
That night we spent some time on Bourbon Street--WOW!!  Definitely saw some interesting things for sure!
The next day we took a carriage ride tour around the city and learned about some of the history of the town.
Charley and me on the carriage ride.
We enjoyed a nice dinner on the Cajun Queen paddle boat and took a ride down the Mississippi River.
 The dinner was amazing!
After dinner we sat out on the deck of the boat and enjoyed the views of the city as the sun set.

We ate so much yummy food on this trip and it was so worth it.  Our days consisted of eating and walking and eating some more!!

The train ride back to San Antonio was nice because it gave us time to relax after ALL the walking we did while in New Orleans.  Fortunately we didn't have any delays on the way home!  Thanks for a great trip, dad!  Lots of great memories!
